Singosari is the temple of the Hindu-Buddhist Singhasari kingdom
historic relics located in the village of Candi Renggo, Singosari, Malang in
East Java, Indonesia. It discovered in the early 18th century, around the year
1800-1850. At the beginning of discovery, the Dutch gave it name as the Tower temple
because the shape resembles a tower.
In terms of architecture, the temple has a uniqueness
that seems have two levels of the building
The temple is situated in valley between the Tenggerese
and Arjuna mountains in 512 meters up to sea level. Many people thoughts that
the function of Singosari temple is the tomb of King Kertanegara, the last king
of Singhasari kingdom.
