Sumberawan Temple

Sumberawan Temple estimated was first discovered by the natives and reported to the Dutch government in 1904. Sumberawan Temple is located in Sumber Awan village, Singosari district, Malang regency. The actual position of the temple approximately is 6 km from Singgosari temple.

The name Sumberawan probably derived from the village name is Sumber Awan village. But there were further analyzed Sumberawan name probably derived from the words "Sumber" and "Rawan" (ponds). Because near the stupa is obtained many water which accrue to the greatest forming as ponds. The locals call this temple is Rawan Temple (Ponds Temple).
